HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

for HIGH COUNTRY UCC

 

 

 

Dec. 1     Hanging of the Greens, 11 am — This festive service gives the whole congregation an opportunity  to decorate the sanctuary together as we celebrate old and new customs, read Scriptures, and sing carols. Our new chimes choir will be featured in this service.

Dec. 8     Focusing on Mary’s Story, 11 am

Dec. 15    Focusing on Joseph’s Story, 11 am

Dec. 18    Contemplative Holiday Service 6:30 pm — If you don’t feel like celebrating, or if you are tired of the frenetic pace and commercialism of the holiday season, then this service of contemplation will offer you a quiet respite in the spirit of the “Longest Night” services. Led by Heather Thorp.

Dec. 22    Patchwork Pageant, 11 am — Our church dramatists Kathleen Rowell and Sondra Edwards will lead us through an improvisational “High Country” rendition of the timeless Christmas story.

Dec. 24    Candlelight, Carols, & Communion 5:30 pm — Sondra Edwards, Rev. Bill Rogers, Joanna Osmond, and others have put together this beautiful and simple service for Christmas Eve.

Dec. 29    Prayers, Poems, & Promises, 11 am — End the year on a good note with your church family as we share our experiences of life and loss, our hopes and dreams, and our agreements going forward.

 Jan. 4     Three Kings Day Celebration, 5-8 pm — High Country UCC is joining with other churches in welcoming the Hispanic community to Boone Unitarian Universalist Fellowship for a cultural tradition of food, drama, and gifts from the Three Kings.

Jan. 5     Epiphany, 11 am — It’s time to collect your star word! Martha Johnson, Jeanne Tayloe, and Susan Sage are making sure this fine HCUCC tradition continues.
