Hope for Peace and Justice in 2013
First: many, many thanks to Joan and Don and all HCUCC members – and friends – who collectively and individually worked for peace and justice in 2012! We were inspired in 2012 by the unusual opportunity to advocate as a church against a statewide referendum on an amendment with discriminatory consequences. And while we lost on the amendment vote statewide, we helped win our county’s vote and we also won in the sense that we learned our actions restored lost hope both within our local community and literally across the nation. Our church’s caring efforts mattered!
In 2013 we hope to continue speaking up for the rights and dignity of all people, as well as devoting more time and energy towards finding ways to do the equivalent for Earth and all her creatures. We look forward to working with you this year!
