Social and Environmental Justice Events in Watauga County
On Thursday April 10, 2014 the local non-profit group Arctic Voices is sponsoring a screening in Boone of the film “A Fierce Green Fire: The Battle for a Living Planet“. It is touring the country with its creator, accomplished California filmmaker, Mark Kitchell. It is a history of 50 years of environmental activism in the United States from David Brower and the Glen Canyon Dam in the 50’s to Climate Change today. Location of the screening is the Watauga County Administration Building at 814 W King Street in downtown Boone. Click here to rsvp via facebook. We have an exciting array of social justice events in March and April in Watauga County. Many of them are already included on the HCUCC calendar, and many more are listed on the Watauga NAACP Branch calendar.
And, ASU’s Social Justice Week has an extensive series of events on campus from March 19 – 30, 2014.
