The youth are valued and active members of our church family. Their focus includes learning, fellowship, and service. Highlights of each summer include workcamps, mission trips, and local work teams that assist others in need. Youth spend time learning about structures and systems that cause poverty and injustice and ways to effect change.
Our youth minister, Allan Johnson, Sunday School teachers Zach and Lauren Barricklow, Joan Bathanti, Rosa Dargan-Powers, Owen Gray, and others accompany the youth in their adventures.
Each month, Allan interviews two youth, one Middle High and one Senior High, for a special feature in our church newsletter. Each Sunday the youth enjoy energetic discussions in Sunday School, review their support of their child sponsorship of a little girl in India and their microloan to an entrepreneur in Africa, and often have lunch and activities together.
